Argentina came so close to the defeat at home against Kazakhstan in this Davis Cup final qualifier. The Argentinians fielded their best team on the clay court of Rosario, against a Kazakh side who were without their 2 top-ranked players, Alexander Bublik and Alexander Shevchenko.

But Guillermo Coria's men had to face a Timofey Skatov on fire. The world N. 278 firstly beat Tomas Martin Etcheverry, ranked 28th in the world, on Saturday (6/4, 7/5), and then Francisco Cerundolo, ranked 22nd in the world, on Sunday (7/6(1), 6/4).
